Lamar Academy traces its roots back to the "Teen Parent Alternative Program" begun in the late 1990's. The success of that program led to the creation of an expanded program known as "Options in Education". Finally, a formally structured "School of Choice" Alternative Education school was created and named Lamar Academy. Students at Lamar Academy/"Options" can work at their own pace to acquire credits and graduate high school. Lamar Academy students and staff are guided by adherence to three Principles: Academics, Attendance, and Attitude. To apply to become a Lamar Academy/"Options" student, please contact the Counselor's office.
